In
accordance with the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu's last
wishes, his remains were entombed here in a
magnificient shirine built just for this purpose.
Built in the "Gongen" style, the structures are
painted in vivid colors and many have been
designated "National Cultural Assets".
Additionally, on the grounds is the Toshogu Museum,
in which various artifacts and treasures are on
display.

Nihondaira, then 5 minutes by cable car
